some one needs to pull their broom out of their bum

jesus and mary on a stick. today was a hard day to accept. my husband and i have never been tested so hard before until this past summer. it was quite scary actually. for the past 7 months my left eye dries up and throbs with pain anytime the "issue" at home is well , an issue. i am not gonna dump a ton of boring information on you. all i have to say is that it will be over this weekend. the issue will be gone, the air will be smudged and my couch will be thrown away.

also, once we have a solstice or an equinox my period that follows is always late and very intense. my sensitivity heightens to anger , sympathy and body detoxification. So, I guess you can say right now I am short circuiting a little bit. 

the work day was tough too. fussy customers, text argument between 2 people, I was so hungry I didn't want to eat, and my car is to low for me to get out of with my shoes and leather jacket on!! Grr. 

But today turned out to be quite lovely as well! My friend Bella Q of the Citizen Rosebud stopped in for some love- crush chat that I have been dying to hear. Also the great creative opportunities she is being presented with for 2012! She was glowing with hope and some good lovin' 

later on the night, nicole came in the shop to add some more of her bad assness to the shelves. she gifted me a big bag of her famous vegan chocolate chip wonder cookies,  a new 3 tiered necklace with chain, and a book to get lost in (asap). she also gave me a lift home , so I could avoid paying for a taxi! i love this broad. she always makes me laugh my ace off!

so ,  i'm home. the cookies are gone and all i want to do is cry. so , i pop in practical magic and have a wonderful night of love, witch , magic talk. 

ooh, and i totally cried . 

i better publish this before i decide to erase it because i probably look like a big ol fat baby. but sometimes, you just gotta scream it out!

when the day has gone to bed and i have washed away my woes, i must say i am so thankful for my girlfriends. i am so lucky to have such a strong tribe of ladies in my life.

totally turban

The 90's infrared rays time machine have penetrated my brain , and all I see is crushed velvet!

I have been wanting it alot lately. So I have been slowly accumulating bits and pieces of velvet like material into my wardrobe. I really wish I had some of my teenage pictures to show you. I would walk down Main St. in my little foothills town wearing draping black velvet dresses , with my long blue green hair swaying and sticking to the gown giving it an oil slick affect.

I purchased this turban from Kara of Porkchop Rules. She recently scored a large loot from a local estate sale, and this was one of the treasures!

look for the Union Label

I recently found a vintage deadstock Nicole Miller dress.  I first saw the crumpled ball in a pile of clothes at a local thrift store. I pulled it up, and before I could release it from its pretzel pose, I could tell by the fabric and pattern that this was going to be special. I brought it home, steamed it out and freaked out! It does has an 80's vibe, but the unique cut stands beyond the rest. I wanted to unleash it once my birthday shoes arrived, so there was a few days of waiting and panting.

Once I slipped this over my head, I noticed that the original I.Magnin tags were still attached!

OMG! I love collecting vintage clothing tags and labels. I didn't cut it off because I wanted to show my crimson sisters how cool it was.  The tags are still secretly pinned under the right cuff , and I won't clip it until I carefully wash the dress.

 Size 12 tags is about size 8 for a modern day lady. 

 I feel like we just left the 90's. No siri-bobski. Beverly Hills , 90210, and this dress are now considered Vintage!

I only dream of who #642436 was. I bet she was a classy lady with a questionable hair do.

hell bent for hot pants

If you know me , you know I am a lover of leather. I wear it everyday and the more the merrier. I wait until I find my leather loves used or gifted. And, once a year I like to treat myself to a new leather item.

Recently , my friend Nicole gifted me a swanky pair of Mr Mojo Risin leather pants. The are a little loose around they thigh. So I asked if she can help me atler them since she is the queen of the sewing machine.

I am so lame. I need to learn how to really sew.

Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have some stinky tight leather pants!

Dreaming about traveling up Highway 5. 

This is the threshold to the cleanest water, most beautiful land and two of the most dear people in my life.  I had dreams about being up the hills last night. I think it is time to head back.

brown rice and box dye

I swear, I swear, I swear. I promise. I will eat brown rice and avocado every night. I will dye my own hair, and ax my stylist. I will stop shopping the shelves at Crimson and Clover for one month. I will only buy one junky zine to read. I will stop buying 3 dollar Gerolsteiner waters and Perfect Food bars.

If only, that will save my money and I can slip these bad ass pieces of material over my feet.

I had such a fabulous birthday. Full of love from friends and family. I was showered with cookies, sushi, music, cupcakes, hand made and carefully wrapped gifts. Not to mention the arrival of my birthday shoes!
