Dave Gahans DNA & Me

Yesterday Kara pulled out a box of fringe, leather, studs and lots of history to go along with it all.
I instantly could'nt concentrate on what she was saying because I was freaking out! All of my loves in one medium carrier box just sitting there waiting to be played in.  I could barely wipe the sweat off my brow and ask where all these treasures came from . She told me that some of these belonged to a friend of hers in LA that was married to an uber hot rock star, and she wants her to sell them online for her. Once upon a time, a long time ago these vests belonged to and were sweated in by Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. I know. W.T.F.

Vintage Agatha vest. It looked smokin' hot on Kara!
side note: I am growing out my bangs. This should be an interesting and akward few months.
This reminds me of the Motley Crue 'to fast for love' album cover!
Aaand, here she is. The vest I am going to donate an organ for. A vintage Red Balls on Fire. A leather studded dream.

I realized yesterday that I have'nt listened to Depeche Mode in a very long time. So I went home last night and revisted some of my old favorites. Depeche Mode was one of my favorite tapes to listen to when I first got my license and would drive down to San Francisco. They were also a guarentee spider dance when I would go to Goth Night at Bojangles or The Amazon..Aaah, the good ol' goth days.

Slow Shadows

I'm back, again. I haven't blogged in so long because I just haven't felt like it. I like for my inspirations to happen organically. So when I feel inspired to do so, I would like to share. I have been spending alot of time at Crimson and Clover. I am slowly building my inventory to make an adequate living. With my inventory build, also comes my courage. I am trying to have be positive and patient. But as I am suppose to live a normal live, my brain gets wrapped up in other things. I rather not share, because it's fairly uncomfortable to share with the public but if we ever hang out, let's chat!
What I would like to share with you is some recent pictures of us hanging around Shadow Glen Stables. This is a place on earth where I like to escape, ride horses, observe Hawks, watch Killdeers protect their nests, and snuggle Pygmy Goats.

Bye bye all! I hope your having an awesome 2012!

totally turban

The 90's infrared rays time machine have penetrated my brain , and all I see is crushed velvet!
I have been wanting it alot lately. So I have been slowly accumulating bits and pieces of velvet like material into my wardrobe. I really wish I had some of my teenage pictures to show you. I would walk down Main St. in my little foothills town wearing draping black velvet dresses , with my long blue green hair swaying and sticking to the gown giving it an oil slick affect.

I purchased this turban from Kara of Porkchop Rules. She recently scored a large loot from a local estate sale, and this was one of the treasures!

look for the Union Label

I recently found a vintage deadstock Nicole Miller dress.  I first saw the crumpled ball in a pile of clothes at a local thrift store. I pulled it up, and before I could release it from its pretzel pose, I could tell by the fabric and pattern that this was going to be special. I brought it home, steamed it out and freaked out! It does has an 80's vibe, but the unique cut stands beyond the rest. I wanted to unleash it once my birthday shoes arrived, so there was a few days of waiting and panting.

Once I slipped this over my head, I noticed that the original I.Magnin tags were still attached!
OMG! I love collecting vintage clothing tags and labels. I didn't cut it off because I wanted to show my crimson sisters how cool it was.  The tags are still secretly pinned under the right cuff , and I won't clip it until I carefully wash the dress.

Vintage Nicole Miller tag. Union label  poking out from underneath.
Size 12 tags is about size 8 for a modern day lady.
I feel like we just left the 90's. No siri-bobski. Beverly Hills , 90210, and this dress are now considered Vintage!
I only dream of who #642436 was. I bet she was a classy lady with a questionable hair do.

It's bit of a Brit invasion

I can't stop with this music! I have time warped myself back into the mid/late 1960's from over seas, and I am groovin' on it big time. Like I have said before, what I am listening to at the moment usually is my inspiration for what I slip on each day. It might be over 100 evil degrees here in the Sacramento Valley, but I will still rock out with my Polyester maxi dress. Oh ya baby. Scored this story book dress at the Human Society in Mt. Shasta.

1940s turquoise ring from the Sacramento Antique Fair.
Necklace made by The Queen. AKA Nicole from FHF.
Mary Janes from FHF. I already got down with some dancing in these puppies!
FHF Kaftan dress. I wish I had better pictures to show you. But I was all up on my period that day and my eyes were full of bags..ack!

Some groovy tunes..

The Small Faces

The Troggs

Cream
The Yardbirds

The Stones

Have fun! xox
